Dutch Delight - Claudy Jongstra

Though Jongstra has a fashion background, her interest lies deeply in the fabrication of material itself.
Her call to felt came ten years ago when she saw an enormous felt tent in a museum exhibition and immediately wanted to investigate its possibilities. Jongstra: "Basically, felt is the oldest textile in the world and thus does not have a modern image.
I wanted to find out more about it to develop some contemporary versions. I want to respect its original character, its strength, so that is why I work with raw, untreated materials".
