A stainless steel tube is forced into a mould using very high water pressure from inside it. Compare it to blowing up a long balloon which you then shape by pinching it in places." Yksi in collaboration with a company called Expansor accepted the challenge to use this existing rough industrial technique in creating an elegant interior design product. All vases were given a decorative finish.
Globe is made out of stainless steel and resin and to be used as indoor as well as outdoor furniture. The frame consists of a long tube forming the legs and the seat as well as the back, surrounded by finely plaited resin. This material can take water, subzero temperatures and UV-radiation, has been treated with anti-fungus and is colorfast. It can be used in all types of weather without maintenance. Globe (Van Bree's New World ) handles productions and distribution.

The wild is tamed for good! but the jungle is calling... Four friends from Eindhoven , Holland , went deep into the synthetic jungle to produce furniture which blends technology and organic forms in an unseen way. The exhibition will feature: Fragile Future - light-system that grows like ivy. Plastic Nature - crafted furniture, where carpentry and plastics form a synthetic unity. Non-woven - domestic objects fabricated from the remnants of injection molding. Water Bench - where structure, water and synthetics mingle.
